Beth Moore of Enterprise and Burt Flanagan of Greenville were married Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at Enterprise Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Rob Boyd of Clinton officiating. The Revs. Richard Cothern and Danny Bullock assisted.
Parents of the couple are Susan Moore of Enterprise and Jimmy and Cindy Flanagan of Greenville.
The bride is the granddaughter of Talmadge and Virginia Clay of Enterprise, and Mantel and Betty Clay of Louisville.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Jim and Jewel Flanagan of Kilmichael, the late Dr. and Mrs. Pope Nowell of Harlingen, Texas. He is the great-grandson of Ruby Brake of Heber Springs, Ark.
Nuptial music was provided by Emily Fryant and Amy Brand, soloists; Jimmy Crane, violinist; Susan Chancelor, organist; and Kay Moore, pianist.
The bride was escorted by her grandfather, Talmadge Clay, and given in marriage by her mother.
She wore an original gown handmade by her grandmother and worn by her mother 31 years ago. The A-line dress had princess seaming in the front and back with long set-in sleeves closed at the wrists with covered buttons. The dress swept into the train from under a band in the back and a ribbon stretched the same length as the train. Her headpiece was handmade by a woman in Salzburg, Austria.
The bride carried a bouquet of peach, yellow and white sweetheart roses. Attached to the bouquet was a handkerchief from Germany. An original six-pence from London was placed in the bride's shoe.
Amy Brand of Bailey attended her sister as matron of honor. Other attendants were Lori McGowin of Enterprise, Meg Leech of Jackson, Leslie Mason of Benton and Evelyn Kowall-Smith of Meridian.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Robby Hill of Cleveland, Eric Lanford of Jackson, Chris Gilder of New Orleans and Ronnie Mason of Benton.
Ushers were Kenny McGowin of Enterprise, Chip Carter of Laurel and Jeremy Flanagan of Cleveland.
The bride's nephew, Eli Brand, served as ring bearer.
A reception was held in the church family life center following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Greenville.
