United Way accepting applications
United Way of Northwest Alabama will begin accepting applications from health and human service agencies for the 2015-17 funding cycle on Oct. 24, 2014.
Agencies who are interested in applying for funding must meet the following requirements:
1. Be a non-profit with a 501c3 status
2. Have a CPA audit or equivalent
3. Have an active board of directors
4. Have been providing services in Lauderdale, Colbert, and/or Franklin County for at least two years.
5. Align with United Way’s priority areas in Education, Financial Stability, or Health
6. Have measurable outcomes for semi-annual progress reports
Other requirements will be provided to agencies in the online application. All current and past funded agencies must reapply for funding.
A mandatory application training for new applicants will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the United Way office located at 118 E. Mobile St, Suite 300 in downtown Florence.
Agencies are asked to notify United Way of their intended application by Friday, Oct. 24, by sending an email to bhaddock@uwshoals.org.
The deadline for submitting applications is 4 p.m. on Nov. 14.
