Renovation to courthouse steps complete
The renovation of the Franklin County Courthouse front steps and landing was officially completed last week, officials said.
Probate Judge Barry Moore said all the new granite was put in place by workers with Atkins Marble and Granite Works early last week and the new handrails on the upper and lower steps were put in place at the end of the week.
“We are really glad to have the project complete,” Moore said.
“Grant Atkins and his employees did an excellent job and we now have steps and a landing area that are safer for our citizens to walk on, especially when the steps are wet, and that look much better than the old steps that were in disrepair.”
