Dorothy Harper Britton, 90, Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 at Hanover Hospice in Birmingham.

She is survived by her daughter, Joy Gargis and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Robbie Gargis, Lisa Gargis Hey, Kristin Britton; great-grandchildren, Harper Hey, Trace Gargis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Athel Britton; sons, Ronnie Britton, Eddie Britton; parents, George and Emma Harper; siblings, Cecil Harper, Louise Malone, and Joyce Wakefield.

The pallbearers were Mrs. Britton’s nephews.  Honorary pallbearers were Judge John Jolly and Delmar Hester.

The visitation was Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following in the chapel.  Bro. Ed Bragwell Officiated.  Burial was at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
