RED BAY – The Red Bay Garden Club held their annual Arbor Day ceremony on Friday, March 14.

Each year, the Garden Club plants a tree in Bay Tree Park in honor of a member of the community.

This year’s honoree was Red Bay resident Rosalyn Fabianke, who was the event coordinator for the traveling Smithsonian exhibit “They Way We Worked,” which was housed in Red Bay for six weeks this past fall and required a year’s worth of planning and coordination with other volunteers.

Former Red Bay Mayor Billy Bolton read and presented a resolution to Fabianke from State Representative Johnny Mack Morrow.  Bolton also presented Fabianke with a resolution from Gov. Robert Bentley.

Both resolutions commended Fabianke and all the volunteers who coordinated the “The Way We Worked” exhibit.
