Nancy Hallmark Hastings, 71, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. She was born December 12, 1941 in Belmont, Miss. Nancy was a very caring person and was very compassionate as a certified nurses aide working in home health for 25 years. She was a member of Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, at Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Lindsay, Bro. Jerry Ginn and Tyler Hastings officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery.

Survivors are her husband of 51 years, Don Hastings of Red Bay; five children, Donnie Hastings Jr. and wife, Valarie, of Red Bay, Mark Hastings and wife, Laura, of Oakman, Joe Hastings and wife, Christy Hellums, of Ridgeland, Miss., JoAnna Allred and husband, Scotty, of Tupelo, Miss., and Samantha Wadsworth and husband, Eric, of Hoover; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Hannah Grace, Alexia, Tyler, Hall, Danielle and Ethan; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Augustus Jesse Hallmark and Eva Moore Hallmark; one brother, Jesse Moore Hallmark and wife, Linda; one sister, Betty Chandler; and a brother-in-law, Bill Chase.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Nelson, Bill Nabers, James Marbutt, Eddie Prestage, Kelly Hester, Carroll Ivy and Scotty Skinner.

Visitation was held on Tuesday at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay, and she will lie in state from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, at Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church.
