JCJC soccer coach pleased with his 02 Bobcat squad

ELLISVILLE Mark Easley is excited about the upcoming soccer season for his Jones Junior College Bobcats.
The Bobcats have 10 sophomores and 12 freshmen on their roster this season. Sophomores include Cody Bailey, a defender/fullback, Josh Boone, a fullback, D.J. Todd, a forward, and Chris Eavenson, a midfielder, all from South Jones; Robert Knight, a midfielder/defender, and Michael Walley, a fullback/midfielder, both from Northeast Jones; Robert White, a goalkeeper, and Adrian Sims, a fullback, both from West Jones; Brantley Fryfogle, a sweeper, from George County; and Evan Cassell, a midfielder/fullback from Wayne County.
The freshmen class consists of Trey Banks, a goalkeeper from Warren Central; Paul Bankston, a midfielder from Wayne County; Russ Johnson, a defender/midfielder from Laurel; forward/midfielder Ruben Grimaldo of South
Jones; midfielder Bryan Blackledge, forward Jeremy Young, and midfielder/defender Gathan Wells, all from West Jones; Jay Blackledge, a midfielder/defender/stopper; defender Jeremy Brooks, defender John Drinkard and forward Duke Hemenway, all from George County; and Byron Zerby from Natchez Cathedral.
In the division, Easley said Gulf Coast and Pearl River made the playoffs last year and Hinds won the state.

JCJC opens the season Wednesday at 4 p.m. at home vs. Co-Lin.
