Graveside services for Fredna Melton Joyner will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Orange Cemetery in Pachuta with the Revs. Davey Wilkinson and John Wood officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
There will be a memorial services at Lauderdale United Methodist Church following the graveside service at 11:30 a.m.
Mrs. Joyner, 74, of Meridian, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Lauderdale United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William L. Joyner of Meridian; daughters, Zoanne Ingram of Athens, Ga., and Jann Burns and her husband, Harold, of Norcross, Ga.; two grandsons, Zachary Ingram and Zeke Ingram of Athens; two sisters, Louise Pittman of Meridian and Mae Horne of Jackson.

PHILADELPHIA Services for L.V. Putnam will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Burial will be in Morrow Cemetery.
Mrs. Putnam, 87, of Philadelphia, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville.
Survivors include her daughters, Gwendolyn Hatch of Downers Grove, Ill., and Barbara Monts of Starkville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Challenge to Build Fund, 414 Pecan Ave., Philadelphia, MS 39350.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

NEW BOSTON, Texas Services for Daniel Kent Allgood will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in New Boston with the Revs. Ken Cox and Frank Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Bates-Rolf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Allgood, 52, of New Boston, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at a Dallas hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela McFarland Allgood of New Boston; two daughters, Lisa Allgood Kessler and her husband, Phillip, of Livingston, La., and Lynn Marie Allgood of New Boston; two sons, Lee Michael Allgood and Matt Allgood of New Boston; two grandchildren; a sister, Donna Allgood Goomas and her husband, David, of Duncanville, Texas; his mother, Hildred Walker Allgood of Meridian; an aunt, Audrey M. Walker of Baton Rouge, La.; six nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eldon Paul Allgood.
RENTHIA DEAN
Retired licensed practical nurse
UNION Services for Renthia Dean will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy McDill and Father Ryan. Burial will be in Hopewell Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Dean, 89, of Little Rock, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at Laird Alliance Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Little Rock and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church where she was active for many years.
Mrs. Dean was known throughout the community all her life for nursing the sick. She had a God-given talent for taking care of people in need and gave of her energy wherever needed, even before studying to become a nurse.
After her children moved away, she enrolled in nursing school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she earned her degree as a licensed practical nurse.
She worked there for many years. She also worked at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center and St. Dominic's Hospital. Later she moved to Meridian where she was employed at Rush Foundation Hospital. Before retiring she worked at Laird's Hospital and Nursing Home in Union.
Her entire life was devoted to the sick, the suffering and the poor. She took great pride in her work and her children often referred to her as "Our Little Mother Teresa."
Survivors include her sons, Clois Dean of Hattiesburg, Carl Dean of Little Rock and Darrell Dean of Union; a daughter, Peggy Brister of Biloxi; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clifton Dean.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and Diabetes Foundation.
Pallbearers will be Joey Dean, Darrell Dean, Paul Dean, David Dean, Johnny Dean, Eagle Dean, and Phillip Dean.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
