Gas up truck

If your company is located in east Mississippi and you'd like to learn more about doing business internationally, a series of seminars conducted by the Mississippi Development Authority may offer helpful information. Just don't expect any of the sessions to be held around here.
Last week, MDA held seminars in Jackson and Biloxi and on Tuesday the sessions move to Tupelo.
In a June 11 press release that came on the day of the first seminar, MDA said the briefings would focus on opportunities for expanding trade in key markets around the world. The press release did not identify the targeted markets, but said MDA experts would offer "the latest information possible" on how Mississippi companies can "realize their potential for exporting their products and services worldwide."
Knowing that MDA was probably trying for geographic distribution and can't hold seminars everywhere, it would nonetheless be nice if just once Mississippi's economic development agency recognized the potential of companies located outside the capital, coast and northeast Mississippi regions. Just once.
Oh, if you're interested in driving up to Tupelo for Tuesday's seminar, you may still have time to register. Call MDA's Trade Bureau, (601) 359-6672. And while you're on the phone registering, ask them to come to east Mississippi once in awhile.
