Betty Joyce McCarley Welch, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Glenwood Healthcare, Florence.

She was born Jan. 16, 1934, in Hodges.

Graveside services were Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Holly Springs Cemetery, Atwood, with Dr. Richard Welch and Bro. Billy Nichols officiating. Burial was in Holly Springs Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Richard D. Welch and wife, Karon, of Anderson, Regina Welch Tyra, of Zion, Ill., and Rhonda Welch Clark, Necedah, Wisc.; her siblings, Kathrin McCarley Nichols, Nina McCarley Senter, Jerry W. McCarley, Lovetta McCarley Ashe and Harold B. McCarley; grandchildren, Russell Welch and wife, Jennifer, Daryl Welch and wife, Valerie, Kyle Tyra, Nicole Tyra, Chris Clark and Danny Clark; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Welch; her parents, Isom Bradford McCarley and Hazel Adlee West McCarley; her brothers, Bobby A. McCarley, Sr., Isom Edward McCarley, Don C. McCarley and Lurie Gean McCarley.

Pallbearers were Harold McCarley, Russell Welch, Kyle Tyra, Billy Nichols, Jeremy McCarley and Jerry McCarley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons International (www.gideons.org) to place Bibles in Mrs. Welch’s memory.
