Don’t miss our annual Spring Home & Garden section
It’s that time of year again – temperatures are (mostly) warmer – but not too warm – birds are singing, flowers are beginning to bloom and perhaps you’ve been thinking and planning what you want to do this spring.
In that case, don’t miss our annual Spring Home & Garden section, included in this week’s paper. The Red Bay Garden Club is featured in an article about tips for planting an amaryllis, a project several of their members undertook earlier this year.
Other topics share information about the role pollinators play in gardens, how to care for perennials and the benefits of planting native species plants.
Addition subjects provide information about popular plants to help repel insects, outdoor plants toxic to household pets, buying and setting up a bird bath and the right ways to clean lawn and patio furniture.
You can also learn about the pros and cons of raised bed gardening and container gardening.
We hope you’ll enjoy reading about these topics as much as we enjoyed putting it all together! What are you looking forward to this spring? Will you be going with your tried-and-true methods or, perhaps, trying something new?
Thanks to Linda Holcomb for letting us photograph her beautiful tulip tree! You can see it right on the cover of the Spring Home & Garden Section, so don’t forget to be on the lookout for this special yearly section, right after the sports section in this week’s issue of the Franklin County Times.
