MADISON Vertex Aerospace will open an employment transition office at Naval Air Station Meridian at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. The office will be located on base. The location and mailing address are as follows:
Vertex Aerospace Transition Office
NAS Meridian, Building 2, Room 128B
101 Fuller Road
Meridian, MS 39309
Beginning Tuesday, the office will be open weekdays from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., until the transition is complete. Incumbent T-45 workers do not need an appointment and are encouraged to "walk in" to begin the application process.
Appointments will then be set for interviews. The on-base transition office is only for the processing of the existing T-45 workforce.
Vertex expects the vast majority of employees hired to come from the existing workforce and preferential consideration will be given to this workforce.
The company will employ about 300 workers in Meridian and about 400 at NAS Kingsville, Texas, as it handles contractor logistics support and other services for the T-45. Support for the Ground Based Training System will be subcontracted to AAI. The Navy, under a separate contract, awarded engine support to Rolls Royce.
