STELLA MARTHA WRIGHT JAMES

Services for Stella Martha Wright James will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Rickles and Jimmy Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. James, 84, of Meridian, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at Riley Hospital. She was a former employee of Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, a WMU worker, Willing Workers Sunday School Class and a former Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Knight of Meridian, two sister-in-laws, Agnes Fincher of Arley, Ala., and Mildred James of Bailey; five nieces and nephews, Inez Duett, Brian Knight, Ernestine Williamson, Kay Hodge and Bubba Knight; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Commar Wright, her mother, Zoie Roberson Wright and a sister, Ruth Wright McMullen.
Pallbearers will be Louis Ross, Timmy Duett, Robbie Gilmer, Brady Rushing, Joey Knight, William Rouse, E.B. "Pap" Culpepper and Roger Harper.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

SEBASTOPOL Graveside services for Nannie Louise Dixon will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Nanih Waiya Mennonite Church with the Rev. Ethan Goode and Mark Roth officiating. Burial will be in Dancing Rabbitt Cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Dixon, 45, of Philadelphia, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her sons, Luke Allen Jr., Teddy Allen and Dakota Hicks; her mother Rosie Thompson; a brother Erskin Dixon; two half brothers, Gilbert Thompson, and Gabriel Thompson; a half sister, Norma Willis; a close friend, James Hickman; 12 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bemon Dixon.
DELORIS "DEE" R. GRESSETT

PHILADELPHIA Services for Deloris "Dee" R. Gressett will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Sandtown United Methodist Church with the Revs. Dave Wilkinson and Rodney Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Sandtown Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gressett, 61, of Chunky, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a house wife and devoted mother.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Ray Gressett, of Chuncky; two daughters, Cindy Diane Gressett and Carla Jo Martin, both of Chunky; a son, David Glenn Gressett, of Navarre, Fla.; two sisters, Odessa Whitehead, of Ridgeland, and Marvel Crawford, of Philadelphia; four brothers, James "Sock" Robertson, of Philadelphia, Bobby G. Robertson, of Jackson, Alton "Hootie" Robertson, of Madison, and Charley Robertson, of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren and two great-grand children.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Medric "Med" Robertson.
Visitation will be today at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Ruby Nell Darden, 66, of Meridian, who died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at Riley Hospital.
THOMAS WILLIAM THRASH
NEWTON Services for Thomas William Thrash will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Decatur United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home of Newton is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thrash, 64, of Decatur, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Specialty Hospital.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 p.m.- 6 p.m. at the funeral home in Newton.
WILLIAM GRAY SNOWDEN

COLUMBUS Services for William Gray Snowden were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Columbus with the Rev. Ralph Windle officiating. Burial was held in the church cemetery. Lowndes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Snowden, 87, of Columbus, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, at Trinity Healthcare in Columbus.
Mr. Snowden was born on Nov. 5, 1914, in Lauderdale County to the late James Ranson Snowden and Emily Rissie Snowden. He lived in the Columbus area for 49 years moving from Collinsville and the Martin Community. Mr. Snowden was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a Mason, and an avid outdoorsman and was retired from United Technology.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Venie Byrd Snowden of Columbus; daughters, Barbara Snowden Underwood, Dell Snowden Willcutt, both of Starkville, and Georgia Snowden Sheffield of Columbus; sisters, Retha Snowden Deal of Waynesboro, Sarah Snowden Harrison of Meridian, Julia Snowden Crenshaw of Columbus; brothers, Hailey Snowden of Meridian, and Virgil Snowden of Collinsville; grandchildren, Mitzi Sheffield Younger, Russell Sheffield, Valerie Sheffield Morgan, Rick Underwood, Vicki Underwood Frizzell, Sherry Underwood Taggart, James William Willcutt and Gregory Scott Willcutt; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Willcutt, Scott Willcutt, Rick Underwood, Russell Sheffield, Criss Taggart and Curtis Younger. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Trinity Healthcare, Dr. Michael Duckworth, Dr. Lance Busch and Dr. Doyle Sumrall.
