Clarke County awarded grant

QUITMAN Clarke County's board of supervisors has received a $100,000 grant to help develop a strategic long-range plan to overcome the impact of recent plant closings in the area.
The grant, part of the Workforce Investment Act program administered by MDA's Employment Training Division, will provide county leaders with funds to implement a plan to study recent plant closures in the area, and to develop strategies for averting potential plant closings.
he Meridian-based Montgomery Institute will serve as a consultant in the project.
