JACKSON Of the 25 girls's basketball games played in the Mississippi High School Activities Association's two-week state tournament, they definitely saved the most exciting finish for last. Lake's Kim Cox drove the lane for a basket with five seconds left to give the Lady Hornets the Class 1A state championship with a 58-57 thriller over Myrtle Saturday night in the Mississippi Coliseum.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. Ole Miss seniors Jason Flanigan and Rahim Lockhart didn't want a repeat of last season's finish in the Southeastern Conference's western division. With the addition of freshmen Justin Reed and Aaron Harper, this year's been different. Reed scored 15 points and Flanigan made three free throws down the stretch Saturday to help No. 14 Ole Miss upset fifth-ranked Florida 74-69 in the semifinals of the SEC tournament.

LOUISVILLE Take Tommy Holland, a good curve ball, and some very cold weather, put the together and what do you get? A winning recipe for the Rockets of Neshoba Central. Holland, the Rockets' senior hurler spun a seven-hitter at the Meridian Wildcats, cooling the red-hot Meridian bats and dealing the Cats their first loss of the season, 8-3. Meridian has scored 67 runs in its first five games. The win makes Neshoba 3-2, while the Cats fall to 6-1.

The Answer …
Mean' Joe Greene.
Sports Faces …
Andy Slayton
The Meridian Wildcats have turned things around on the baseball diamond having won five straight games to reach 10 wins on the season. A big reason why is outfielder Andy Slayton.
Slayton plays left field for Coach Vince McLemore's team, but can also play right, center and even do some catching if needed.
Slayton's baseball highlight was a championship won with teammate Lance Burnham.
