Senate Minority Leader Trent Lott praised the budget proposal on Friday, saying the military support is needed.
Bush's budget includes $9.76 million for the housing at NAS Meridian. It also includes another $4.12 million for housing at Columbus Air Force Base and $16.51 million for housing at Keesler Air Force Base.
Also included is funding to enhance capabilities at Gulfport's Navy Seabee base, Naval Station Pascagoula and Keesler.
