McDonald promoted to assistant news editor at The Meridian Star

Janet McDonald, a page designer on The Meridian Star's news desk since February 2000, has been promoted to assistant news editor, it was announced today by editor Buddy Bynum.
Her duties include electronic page layout and graphics design for the daily newspaper as well as its ancillary publications and special sections.
McDonald, 22, a 1997 honor graduate of Meridian High School, received her associate's degree in graphic design from Meridian Community College in 1999. She was an honor graduate of MCC and a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
A Meridian native, she is the daughter of Lee McDonald and Judy Parker, and attends Russell Baptist Church.
