Construction of new homes in the pristine rolling hills of Lauderdale County's newest subdivision Magnolia Lake Estates could begin by the end of the month.
Businessmen, elected officials and developers turned out Thursday for a ground breaking ceremony marking the official launch of the project, which is located on Highway 494 in Collinsville.
The subdivision will offer 81 one-acre-size lots in Phase one. Phase two will have 50 lots. The lots are positioned around a 32-acre lake and prices start at $27,500.
Hutcheson said the project has been two years in the planning.
Hutcheson said Mississippi Energies Inc., a subsidiary of Mississippi Valley Gas, will provide wastewater treatment facilities for residents of the subdivision.
Electric power will be furnished by the East Mississippi Electric Power Association.
