Rehearsals are already under way for the Meridian Little Theatre's second production of the season, "Nuncrackers."
The show will run Dec. 6-12. It features traditional carols, plus some Christmas Carol spoofs, including: "Here We Come A-Waffel-ing," and "The Holly and Ivory."
The scene is set for a Christmas concert as everybody's favorite nuns warm up for their first television special. The program, which the audience will witness, is done with lots of love, reverence and good Christmas spirit.
The role of Father Virgil will be played by Zena Limberick, who has performed in MLT's "Forever Plaid," "Grease," "My Fair Lady" and "Crazy for You."
Jackie Banes will portray the role of Reverend Mother. No stranger to MLT's stage, she has been seen in "South Pacific," "My Fair Lady," "Man for All Seasons," "Dearly Beloved" and "Nunsense."
Jennifer Colburn will play Sister Robert Anne. Colburn was last seen in MLT's "Music Man." She has also been in "Oklahoma," "Bye Bye Birdie" and "L'il Abner."
Sidney Covington will play Sister Amnesia. Last seen as Louise in "Always Patsy Cline," Sidney has been in numerous MLT productions such as "Showboat," "Becket," "The Odd Couple," "Once Upon a Mattress" and "Noises Off."
Sister Hubert will be played by Karon Leach who was recently seen in "Annie" as Mrs. Greer. Leach was also in MLT's "My Fair Lady."
The children's roles went to Matt Crane, Bethany Dearman, Maggie Freyaldenhoven, Holly Howard, Ryan Jimenez, Daniel May, Lindsey Summerlin and Chris Williams.
Individual tickets will be available at a later date. Pro-rated season memberships are still available. For more information on tickets phone Meridian Little Theatre's Box Office at 482-6371 between 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.
