A one-vehicle accident Friday on Russell Mt. Gilead Road, near Nanabee Creek Campground, claimed the life of a Toomsuba woman.
The accident, involving a pick-up truck that overturned, occurred about 6:30 p.m. The name of the deceased was withheld by authorities pending the identification of her family.
Deputy John Calhoun reported that two passengers, a woman and a small child, were also injured in the accident and were transported to Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. The extent of their injuries was not known at press time.
The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the scene.
