While some may consider cooking a labor of love, Libby Bounds just loves being in the kitchen and considers it a hobby.
A native of Senatobia, Libby met her husband, Ross Bounds, while they were students at Ole Miss. They married and moved to Meridian after school.
For the past 16 years, Bounds worked in the Meridian school district, serving as a teacher for 13 years. She began her career as an assistant at Northwest Junior High. An English major at Ole Miss, she went back to school at the Meridian campus of Mississippi State University to pick up some education courses. During her first two years, she taught classes at Kate Griffin, Meridian High, Carver and Magnolia. She then settled into a classroom at Magnolia Middle School, and that's where she has been ever since.
School started back last week, but Bounds said that won't keep her out of the kitchen.
She lists her specialities as baking sweets and breads, especially French bread.
