McWilliams leads Briarwood Jr. Club Championship

Ross McWilliams fired a round of 81 to take the opening day lead in Briarwood Country Club's annual Junior Club Championship Tuesday.
Today's final round teed off at 9 a.m.
Firing from the white tees, McWilliams took a four-stroke lead on Erik Tolleson in the 14&15 age group. Leigh Phillips was at 96 and Cole Clopton shot 103.
Clay Bounds paced the 12&13 age division with a round of 85, teeing off from the gold tees. William Sanford shot 91, Brok Hollingshead 93 and Rush Mayatt carded a 112.
The story of the day, however, was in the 10&11 age group, where 10-year-old Chad Bounds fired a very impressive 9-hole round of even-par 36 from the red tees. Bounds birdied the par-4 No. 2 and par-5 No. 8, while bogeying No. 5 and No. 9. Lee McCarty shot 58 and Josh Ellis was at 74 after the first day.
Ross McCarty and Cain Mayatt were tied at 30 in the 8&9 age group in a five-hole round from the 150-yard marker. William Fulton shot 33 and Dylan Rials had a 49.
