QUITMAN  "Day in the Park" at Clarkco State Park is a sure sign summer is about here in East Mississippi.
Day in the Park begins at 10 a.m. and will last until about 4 p.m.
A good variety of hand-crafted items will be available for purchase from area vendors. The wares will include beaded jewelry, wrought iron, air-brushed shirts, woodcrafts, suncatchers, baskets, angels and cypress porch swings.
Organizers say the entertainment program that begins at 10 a.m. will be outstanding. Performers will include Angela White, Spoken Four, Azusa Street, Courtney Riley Smith, Stonewall Quartet and City Limits.
The food booths will have delights such as chicken-on-a-stick, hamburgers, funnel cakes, chiliburgers, fried dill pickles, fried apple pies, bloomin' onions and, of course, homemade ice cream.
Make your plans now to attend this annual event. Clarkco State Park is located 18 miles south of Meridian just off Highway 45.
