Heidelberg confirmed to college board

Veldore Young Heidelberg of Meridian has been confirmed as a member of the State Board for Community and Junior Colleges (SBCJC).
Heidelberg will serve from the Third Congressional District. She is a graduate of Xavier University, Oxford University and Mississippi College School of Law. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Mississippi Bar Association. She is currently an assistant district attorney for the 10th Judicial District.
Heidelberg has served on the board since the time of her appointment in July of 2000. Since her appointment was made after the Legislature had adjourned last year, her official confirmation came last week.
The SBCJC board has 10 members, two from each of the five Congressional Districts. Each member serves a six year term.
The nine other members of the board are Yvonne Brown, Brenda Collins, Sara Fox, Joanna Heidel, Henry Hudspeth, Jimmy Murphy, John Junkin II, Lawrence Warren and George Walker, who also serves as chairman.
