    OBITUARIES FOR TUESDAY, NOV. 28, 2000

    KATIE I. WILSON
    Owner/operator of Looks Unlimited Styling Center
    Services for Katie I. Wilson will be Friday at 1 p.m. at St. John Church, with the Rev. William C. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery in Mobile, Ala. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Wilson, 41, of Meridian, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, in Meridian. She was a member of St. John Church.
    Survivors include her mother, Easter Smith Washington, two daughters, Krystal Wilson and Angela Wilson, all of Meridian; a sister, Harriett Watters of Mobile; her fiance, Edward Bishop; two brothers, Harry M. Washington and his wife, Rose, of St. Louis, Mo. and Donald B. Washington and his wife, Bridgett, of Mobile; several devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
    Pallbearers will be her friends.
    There will also be a 1 p.m. service at Pinecrest Funeral Home on Saturday in Mobile.
    MAUDIE GIPSON LEFEVERS

    Graveside services for Maudie Gipson Lefevers will be held today at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery, with the Rev. Cephus Garrett officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Lefevers, 94, of Lauderdale, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Riley Hospital.
    Survivors include a sister, Loree Gipson Lambert of Meridian; a niece, Patricia Lambert Laughlin of Metairie, La.; a nephew, Robert L. Lambert of Pearl River; her devoted friend, Aaron Sparks of Lauderdale; and several great-nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Renfroe and a brother, H.C. Gipson.
    ELVA LEE LITCHFIELD

    Graveside services for Elva Lee Litchfield will be held today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery in Kemper County, with the Rev. Wallace Terry Jr. officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Ms. Litchfield, 97, of Marion, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Riley Hospital. She was a retired nurse employed with East Mississippi State Hospital.
    Survivors include two sisters, Ellis Mae Wallace and Lula Mayatt, both of Collinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
    NELLIE BASSETT

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Nellie Bassett will be held today at 2 p.m. at Rocky Hill Church of God, with the Revs. Brett Cooper and Guy McGarrity officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with John F. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Bassett, 97, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
    Survivors include six daughters, Delma Bassett of Gresham, Ore., Mary Brown of Theodore, Ala., Evon Beckham of Meridian, Mildred Tatum of Union, Sally Jo Smith of Enterprise and Martha Fornea of Rose Hill; two sons, Dorman Bassett of Mesquite, Texas, and Henry Bassett of Union; 34 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Oscar Bassett and five sons.
    PEARLINE T. HERRINGTON

    BUTLER, Ala. Services for Pearline T. Herrington will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Lusk Assembly of God, with the Rev. Doug Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Old Lusk Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Herrington, 68, of Gilbertown, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Riley Hospital in Meridian.
    Survivors include two daughters, Reba Turner of Gilbertown and Dorothy Gibson of Lumberton, N.C.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today beginning at 5 p.m. at the church.
    DOLLY LONG
    Retired dispatcher for City of PhiladelphiA
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Dolly Long will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
    Mrs. Long, 78, of Vicksburg, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Riley Hospital.
    Survivors include her husband, Sam Long of Vicksburg; two sons, Ted Long of Vicksburg and Sammy Long of Pearl; three sisters, Sue Chadwick of Brandon, Mae Jolly of Meridian and Ouida Williams of Carthage; four brothers, Archie D. White and Joe R. White, both of Columbia, S.C., Hugh L. White of Warrenton, Mo., and John N. White of Philadelphia; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    L.A. ORMOND JR.
    Retired sales representative with St. Regis Paper Company
    WAYNESVILLE, N.C. Services for L.A. "Dolph" Ormond Jr. will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lake Junaluska Memorial Chapel, with the Revs. David Melton, Edward Tullis and Dr. Clay Madison officiating. Burial will be in Myrtlewood Cemetery in Livingston, Ala. Wells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Ormond died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Livingston, Ala., he was the son of the late L.A. and Flora Sims Ormond. He was a retired sales representative with the St. Regis Paper Company with 35 years of service. Mr. Ormond was a Boy Scout executive with the Boy Scouts of America in Meridian, Miss. He was a Marine veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. Mr. Ormond was a member of the Haywood County Literacy Council, Board of Junaluskans, where he was chairman of the Community Watch Program. He will be remembered for his keen wit and his irreverent repartee.
    Survivors include his wife, of 48 years, Marjorie "Peggy" McDonald Ormond; two sons, Scott M. Ormond and his wife, Lisa, of Lakeland, Fla. and David A. Ormond of Ocala, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Allison, Kevin and Matthew Ormond.
    The family requests memorials be made to the Inspiration Point Project at Lake Junaluska.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Junaluska Security staff, the Rev. Dr. Wright Spears, the Rev. Bill Lowery, Roger Guyer, Roger Lackey, Jim Butzner and David Snipes.
    RUBEN CHATHAM
    Graveside services for Ruben Chatham will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Semmes Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
