    OBITUARIES FOR SATURDAY, JULY 14, 2001

    Services for Roy Evan Tucker will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Corinth Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Grant Duncan and G.C. Cooley officiating. Burial will be in East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarke County with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Tucker, 25, of Quitman, died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, on Highway 145 North in Quitman.
    Survivors include a wife, Amy S. Tucker, a son, Marcus Lee Herrington, two daughters, Chelsy Alexis Tucker and Kelsy Erin Tucker all of Enterprise; his parents, Charles Tucker and Martha Huffman, three brothers, Troy Allan Tucker, John Evan Tucker and Jonathon Huffman; three sisters, Shelia Pearson, Brandy Huffman and Amanda Ford, all of Quitman; and several nieces and nephews.

    Retired maintenance foreman with Tennessee Valley Authority
    PHILADELPHIA Services for John E. Whitaker Jr. will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Eugene Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
    Mr. Whitaker, 92, of Hattiesburg, died Friday, July 13, 2001, at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Navy, 39th Battalion of Seabees.
    Survivors include a son, John E. Whitaker III of Hattiesburg, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

    Retired Paper Mill employee
    Services for Dennis Hayes Jr. will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Ardell Gathright and Lavon Gathright officiating. Burial will be in All Day Cemetery in Enterprise.
    Mr. Hayes, 67, of Meridian, died Monday, July 9, 2001, at Oakwood Home for the Elderly in Bastrop, La.
    Survivors include his wife, Annie Hayes of Meridian.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Hayes Sr., and his mother, Mary Hayes.
    SAMMY D. GOODIN

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Sammy D. Goodin will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Coy United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Bobby Lowrey and Dewayne Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with John E. Stephens Chapel in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Goodin, 61, of Brandon, died Thursday, July 12, 2001, in his home.
    Survivors include his wife, Dora M. "Rita" Goodin of Brandon; three daughters, Dianne Craven and Susan Byrd, both of Brandon, and Pam Guidry of Marrero, La.; four sons, Jerry Goodin and Sammy Goodin Jr., both of Brandon, William Goodin of Jackson and Ray Goodin of Pelahatchie; a sister, Mary Lynn Farve of Philadelphia; four brothers, Clark Goodin and Willard Goodin, both of Noxapater, Clyde Goodin of Marrero and Troy Goodin of Philadelphia; and seven grandchildren.
    SHIRLEY JO MCDONALD JOHNSON

    KOSCIUSKO Services for Shirley Jo McDonald Johnson will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marshall Lum officiating. Burial will be in Parkway Cemetery.
    Mrs. Johnson, 60, of Meridian, died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church and the Women's International Congress Bowling League in Meridian.
    Survivors include her husband, C.E. Johnson; two sons, Dwight Johnson of Carthage and Russell Johnson of Pearl; her mother, Burle McDonald of Kosciusko; three brothers, Ed McDonald and Royce McDonald of Kosciusko and Billy McDonald of Carthage; three sisters, Charlotte Cook and Fran Cockroft of Carthage and Mary Alsup of Raymond; and five grandchildren, Ashley, Bethany and Zachary Johnson of Carthage, Melissa Johnson of Meridian and Patrick Johnson of Chicago.
    She was preceded in death by her father, James Roy McDonald and a brother, Malcolm McDonald.
    The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 4830 McWillie Circle, Jackson, MS 39206, or the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, 16 Northtown Drive No. 100, Jackson, MS 39211.

    Retired U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force
    Services for Clifton Adams will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Chris Howard officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Mr. Adams, 74, of Meridian, died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko. He was retired from the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force.
    Survivors include three sisters, Lucille Peebles and Willa Yarrell, both of Meridian, and Howard Lee Johnson of Philadelphia.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Adams and a son, Glenn Adams.
    Visitation will be today from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
    LYNDON J. STEWART
    Popeyes Chicken employee
    Services for Lyndon J. Stewart will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Clark's Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Stewart, 23, of Meridian, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, in his home.
    Survivors include his mother, Leona Stewart, and his father, William Wade, both of Meridian; three sisters and four brothers.
    Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Retired from Ford Motor Company
    Services for Paul McGee will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. M.C. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Laboring and Sons Cemetery.
    Mr. McGee, 93, of Meridian, died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at Meridian Convalescent Home.
    Survivors include two sisters, Reola Ramsey of New Orleans and Wysingle Johnson of Chicago; and a niece.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
    Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m.-6 p.m.
