Ruth Hale Spraggins, 92, of Phil Campbell, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at Parkway Medical Center.

She was born April 16, 1919, in Cleburn County to I.V. and Lona Hale. She was a member of Bear Creek No. 1 Baptist Church in Bear Creek and was a homemaker who loved flowers, gardening and also loved her family dearly.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, with Bro. Richard Ritchie and Bro. Eric Swinney officiating. Burial was in Bear Creek Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oneal Spraggins; son-in-law, Robert Mitchell, three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen Mitchell, of Phil Campbell, and Voncille Berry and husband, Bobby, of Decatur; one sister, Nell Fortner and husband, Jr., of Kennesaw, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Jared Johnson, Matthew Shell, Zack Shell, Kevin Clark, Steve Wilson and Kevin Scott.
