The Magic defeats law officers

WHEELCHAIR ATHLETICS n Derrick Dortch, left, of the Mississippi Magic wheelchair basketball team, races to the basket against Deputy Paul Earley of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department, followed by Detective J. C. Lewis of the Meridian Police Department. The Magic defeated law officers 78-74 in a Saturday afternoon game at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. The game was played to raise awareness of wheelchair athletics and generate money for the Magic's travel expenses.
