PHIL CAMPBELL – A piece of mail at a dumpsite along a county road led to a methamphetamine arrest late Friday.
Authorities said they found a piece of mail scattered among meth making materials on the side of the road.
Jessica Sellers, 20, of 4274 Franklin 20 in Phil Campbell, was arrested and charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance Friday evening.
Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said the mail with Sellers' name was found among packages of agents used to manufacture meth along with a couple of bottles filled with a substance that is drained out of the product once the process is complete.
"We received a tip from someone who was picking trash up along the roadside," Plott said. "We found some mail with the defendant's name on it."
According to the Alabama Criminal Code, first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance is a Class A felony, which is punishable with 20 years to life in prison upon conviction.
