RC&D grant benefits Vina
The Northwest Alabama Resource Conservation and Development Council recently gave $3,380 to the Town of Vina to purchase flag poles to display veterans’ names, honoring those who have served in the armed forces.
According to Sue Raper, town clerk, when Vina’s park had drainage problems, the flag poles were damaged. This grant from RC&D enabled the town to purchase new flag poles for the park.
Lauranne James, executive director of RC&D, along with Joel Pounders, Franklin County RC&D board member, reviewed the project for board approval. The RC&D Board approved the project unanimously.
Roger Hayes, chairman of the board, expressed his appreciation to Sen. Larry Stutts and Reps. Ken Johnson and Johnny Mack Morrow for the support they provide for RC&D in the state legislature.
