Northwest-Shoals Community College to offer Kids in College STEM summer camp
Northwest-Shoals Community College’s Child Development Center will offer the 2021 Kids in College STEM summer camp July 19-23. The camp is open to children entering grades first through ninth in the fall.
Each day participants will experience STEM-related activities in science, technology, engineering and math. NW-SCC Child Development Center coordinator Jacque Jefferys said the camp will feature robotics for the older participants.
“Our camp participants that are going into the sixth grade and older will experience robotics and how robots operate,” said Jefferys. “The younger participants will go through what we call Storybook STEM. This will help them learn STEM-related concepts in a storybook-themed atmosphere.”
Registration cost is $85 per child. Spaces are limited, and early registration is encouraged.
Healthy snacks will be provided daily, and each camper will receive a camp T-shirt.
Children are to arrive promptly at 8 a.m. in the Patriot Center gym on the Shoals campus. Each day will conclude at noon.
