Betty Jean Childers
Betty Jean Childers, 84, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at Generations of Red Bay. She was born in Itawamba County, Miss. to Steral Hardin and Alice Louise Overton. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Services was Monday, Nov. 9, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Clint Holcombe and Bro. Kevin Palmer officiating. Burial was in Holly Springs Cemetery, Hodges.
Survivors include the love of her life for 63 years-James “Neal’ Childers; children: H.C. and Shirley Childers of Fulton, James and Sandi Childers of Hamilton, Gary and Renee Childers of Littleville, Glenn Childers and Sonia Brooks and Tammy Jean and Tim Scott of Atwood; grandchildren: Chayne and Misty Childers, Tracey Childers, Brad and Rohanda Childers, Christal and Tim Kalangian, Laura and Kyle Hopson, Nick and Savannah Childers, Chris and Jessica Childers, Adrian Childers, Colton Scott and Damian Duckworth; great,grandchildren: Ryan Childers, Daniel and Brooklinn Pitts, Saith and Hannah Patterson, Delulia Kalangian, Rose Kalangian, Logan and Madison Childers, Shawn Jenkins, Brayden Hopson and Ann Beth Hopson, brothers and sisters,David Horton, Archie Hardin, Wanda Robinson, Marie Upton, Bob Ann Fowler and Lora Clemintine Marbutt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother,Angelo Horton, sister,Carolyn Roberson, great-granddaughter,Lilly Kalangian and her daughter-in-law-Sarah Childers.
Pallbearers were Chayne Childers, Brad Childers, Chris Childers, Nick Childers, Colton Scott and Daniel Pitts. Honorary pallbearers were Tim Scott, David Horton, Billy Paul Nichols, Larry Upton and Archie Hardin.
Visitation was Sunday, Nov. 8, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
