RHS goes country for Spring Sing show
Russellville High School music students will be “Gone Country” for Spring Sing this year, with the show featuring close to 200 students performing country favorites.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. May 6 in the RCS Auditorium. It will feature RHS Musical Theater students, with guest appearances by the Russellville Middle School Show Choir and Drama and the Show Choir Camp.
“It really is a big end-of-school hurrah,” said RCS choral director Emily Rush. “We are going to have so many kids performing, and it is going to be a lot of fun to watch.”
Tickets for the show will be $10 general admission or $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the high school office.
Rush said this year’s show theme has been two years in the making. The students will be performing the show that was planned for this past year’s Spring Sing, which was canceled because of the coronavirus.
Rush said because it is the same material, several students who graduated this past year are coming back to perform in this year’s show.
“We thought since they didn’t get the chance to perform this show last year, it would be good to let them come back and have one final performance,” Rush said.
Rush said the show features songs from all different eras of country music, with favorites the audience is sure to love.
“We hope to see everyone come out and support these kids and all of their hard work,” Rush said. “They have a lot of fun performing it, so we hope the audience enjoys it as well.”
