PCHS competition determines ‘best class’
This school year posed challenges for Phil Campbell High students. They started off separated among churches then moved into their new building in September. To help students adjust in this new environment, the PCHS Student Council came up with a competition: “The Best Class.”
The competition encouraged students to take pride in their class and build enthusiasm and participation. It took place throughout the year, challenging students to do everything from the ridiculous to the extraordinary.
In two of the contests, students gave to the community. PCHS students gave 875 cans of food to Safe Place of the Shoals. Classes also brought donations for the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. The Student Council gave the Salvation Army $600 to provide Christmas for children in the area.
In the end, the seventh grade came out on top in nearly every competition. That class gets the plaque and bragging rights until next year.
