RES students visit Washington
Fifth grade students from Russellville have their photo taken in the lobby of the United States Capitol. Students visited their congressman, Robert Aderholt, during a recent visit to the nation’s capital.
Some fifth graders from Russellville recently visited the capitol and got to meet with the Congressman.
There were 50 people on the tour and everyone really appreciated the time Congressman Aderholt spent with the students. Aderholt took up a great deal of time with the students and never seemed anxious to move on to his next duty or responsibility. He was very impressive.
Other sites the students visited during their trip included:
Mt. Vernon
Arlington with the Changing of the Guards
National Cathedral
Several Memorials: Jefferson, FDR, MLK, Lincoln, Korean, The Wall
Library of Congress
Air & Space Museum
American History Museum
Ford Theatre and the Peterson House
Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Bluejays game
