    OBITUARIES FOR THURSDAY, NOV. 8, 2001

    Pallbearers will be Clyde Valentine, Jimmy Gaines, Charles Maske, Wayne Maske, Jackie Gentry, Bill Vance and S.L. Valentine Jr.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
    JOE E. DUNCAN
    Retired field operator for Phillips Petroleum
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Joe E. Duncan will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Rev. David Hamm officiating. Burial will be in Tucker Cemetery with McClain-Hays Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Duncan, 74, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at Neshoba County General Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
    Survivors include his wife, Mary Duncan of Philadelphia; a son, Michael Duncan of Lake; a stepson, Rick Stone of Gilmer, Texas; three sisters, Peggy Smith of Beaufort, S.C., Jean Thiel of Marion, Wis., and Zita Duncan of Bristol, Conn.; three brothers, Al Duncan of Stuart, Fla., Leonard Duncan of Philadelphia and John Duncan of Dundee, Mich.; and two step-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 3 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. today.
    CHEFFIE FOX
    Services for Cheffie Fox will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Enterprise Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Blackwater Cemetery in Porterville.
    Ms. Fox, a resident of Meridian Community Living Center, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, in Meridian.
    Survivors include two sisters, Cornelious Hudson of Meridian and Kelly McWilliams of Anderson, Ind.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Fox, and her mother, Edith Grant Fox.
    Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
    REV. DAVID L. SIMMONS
    Services for the Rev. David L. Simmons will be held Saturday at noon at St. John M.B. Church with the Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Simmons, 69, of Meridian, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    Survivors include his wife, Lillie Mae Simmons; a son, David Simmons Jr.; four sisters, Mary F. Odom, Ola Roberts and JoAnn Scarbrough, all of Meridian, and Sarah Booth of Arkansas; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Simmons Royals.
    Visitation will be Friday from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    FLOYD BROWN
    Retired truck driver with Corr Williams
    Services for Floyd Brown will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Savannah Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. W.I. Clark officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke Masonic Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Brown, 92, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include a sister, Aguretha Nelms of Westland, Mich.; two sons, James Harold Brown and Floyd Jerald Brown, both of Chicago; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his wife.
    Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
    MONIQUE EAKINS
    Services for Monique Eakins will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Lauderdale with the Rev. Irvin King officiating. Burial will be in Pack Cemetery with Enterprise Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Ms. Eakins, 22, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, in Russell. She was employed by Hardee's Restaurant and Queen City Nursing Home.
    Survivors include her mother, Corene Witherspoon of Inkster, Mich.; her father, Ronald Johnson of Detroit; a daughter, Angel D. Eakins of Meridian; two sisters, Latonya R. Crawford and Janika N. Eakins of Inkster.
    Visitation will be Friday from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    JULIA DUDDEN WIRE
    Retired medical secretary
    Services for Julia Dudden Wire were held Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Elvin Sunds officiating. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Wire, 96, of Meridian, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, in her home. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
    Survivors include two daughters, Dot Du Rapau of Meridian and Louise Williams of Muleshoe, Texas; two granddaughters, Julie Bruns and Annette Watson, both of Amarillo, Texas, a grandson, Roger Williams of Muleshoe; six great-grandchildren; special family, Mary I. Smith of Meridian; her loving care-givers, Becky Nash and Teresa La Biche of Meridian; and several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
    The family requests memorials be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home.
    Pallbearers were members of the Knights of Columbus.

    Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton for Ola Lee Webb, who died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
