Support local high school athletes

We Say

With basketball complete and baseball and softball now underway, other spring sports, including tennis, soccer, track and field and golf, are also getting their seasons started or preparing to do so.

Cheerleader, majorette and color guard hopefuls are trying out or will be soon, and bands members are continuing to hone their musical skills and showmanship.

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication for each of these endeavors. Participants must continually work on maintaining and improving teamwork and displaying good sportsmanship, as well as staying committed to the physical and mental components necessary to play well and excel.

The life lessons and other skills these students learn as part of their respective groups and teams will likely stick with them over the years, helping form the kind of people they become as adults and influencing the direction they decide to go in life.

We hope you will take every chance to cheer them on and congratulate them on their successes and encourage them when they experience disappointments. With the return of sunshine as spring approaches, watching spring sports is the perfect way to both enjoy the outdoors and show support for our studentathletes.
