Groundhog meteorologist sought for one day only

Ah, Groundhog Day is almost upon us. Will the groundhog see his shadow this year? Folk tradition suggests that should he do so on the traditional Feb. 2, Groundhog Day, there will be six more weeks of winter. That’s a lot of pressure for one little groundhog.

Does he even get paid for this expected service? Is he a willing volunteer? One hopes he at least gets whatever the groundhog-equivalent of pizza would be to thank him for the trouble of his services.

Don’t forget to acknowledge the noble groundhog, both on Feb. 2, and every other day. They also provide the bonus service of being pretty darn cute, and it’s hard to put a price on that.
