Summer prepares to make way for fall

September has finally made its way onto the scene, and, I, for one, am quite pleased. The hotter temperatures do not appeal to me, though there have been pleasant moments along the way, including certain summer nights with a light breeze.
Fall is definitely one of my favorite times of the year. I always look forward to the changing colors and falling leaves. I remember happy days long since past when I played in the leaves and even enjoyed being covered in them.
Fall brings about a certain feeling that can be difficult to fully describe. For me, it’s a welcome change. A new beginning of sorts. In other ways, it’s a time for remembering and cherishing some of the better moments along the way. It’s a visit from an old friend who always puts a smile on your face and makes you sad when they leave.
There’s something energizing about it that makes things a little better, a little nicer and more hopeful, even when you may not fully feel that way otherwise. So, hello, old friend. It’s been far too long. Come on in and sit a spell. Sit by the fire and let’s share our stories as you settle in for your annual visit. Let’s enjoy revisiting autumns from the past as we plan to enjoy the one in the present.
