Vina football opens season with 5 OT thriller

The Vina Red Devils opened the season with a thrilling 52-44 five-overtime win over Brindlee Mountain – getting the only win this week among teams in Franklin County.

Trevor Baker led Vina with 23 carries for 182 yards and four touchdowns. He also added seven tackles on defense.

Christian McCarley completed five of six passes for 110 yards and three touchdowns.

Tristen Farr caught two touchdown passes. Branson Vick had a 54-yard touchdown catch. Cai Lawler had 55 yards rushing on offense and led the team on defense with 13 tackles.
