Annual watermelon fun for all returns to downtown Russellville

Yes, it’s true that school has started back already, but there’s still summertime left to enjoy. One way you might do that is this weekend at the annual Franklin County Watermelon Festival. It takes place Friday and Saturday in downtown Russellville.

With lots of free, family-friendly fun, musical performances, vendors, games and food, there’s sure to be something for everyone. Don’t miss out on our special annual Watermelon Festival section in this week’s paper. There’s a map and plenty of details of fun happenings to consider observing or participating.

This year’s section includes some photos from last year’s event, so make sure to have a look. You just might spot yourself or someone you know. Will you be joining in the fun? What are you looking forward to doing at this year’s festival?
