Russellville volleyball hosts Players vs. Coaches event

The Russellville High School volleyball program hosted the annual Players vs. Coaches event Aug. 5.

Current Golden Tigers took the court for a scrimmage to start the evening of fun and fundraising in front of a crowd of supporters. Next was the highly anticipated Players vs. Coaches matches. Russellville coaches representing various sports on campus, teachers, parents and former players took part in the volleyball action facing off against the Golden Tigers.

“Players vs. Coaches makes our athletes work a little harder because they get competitive within it,” Russellville head coach Madison Lamon said. “This also gave us an opportunity to get the community to come out and get involved. It gives them an idea of what it will look like when the season comes.”

The 2024 regular season is fast approaching with the first RHS varsity matches scheduled for Aug. 22 at Hamilton against the Aggies and Curry High School. The home-opener for varsity will be Aug. 26 when Colbert Heights and Deshler will visit the Golden Tigers.
