University of Alabama announces Fall 2023 graduates

Some 2,000 degrees were awarded during the University of Alabama’s fall 2023 commencement at Coleman Coliseum.

Local students include:

  • Tristen Bickerstaff of Russellville. Bickerstaff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • Carley McCalpin of Russellville. McCalpin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce and business administration.

Local students named to Mississippi State University’s fall 2023 Dean’s List

More than 2,500 students have been named to the fall 2023 Dean’s List at Mississippi State University.

The following local students received this honor:

  • Julia Bonner, Phil Campbell
  • Jillian Gillum, Phil Campbell
  • Macy White, Russellville
  • Carrie Jackson, Russellville

To be named to the Dean’s List at Mississippi State, a student must have achieved a GPA between 3.5 and 3.79, based on a 4.0 scale, while completing at least 12 semester hours of coursework with no incomplete grades or grades lower than a C.

Some students might not appear on this list as a result of requests for privacy from publication through the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
