Youth softball camp prepares next generation

Well before softball season beings, Tharptown’s new softball coach, Jonathan Jones, is working to build a foundation with the younger Wildcats.

Jones, formerly Vina’s softball coach, said the camp was a huge success.

“We had 27 campers from grades three to six,” said Jones. “They worked on improving their throwing, fielding, base-running and hitting fundamentals. I am super excited about the talent we have coming up in the grade school ages. The children were awesome, and it was a blessing for our team and staff to work with our campers.”

Jones was thankful for the support of the parents who sent their children to the camp.

“I just want to thank the parents and the kids for supporting Tharptown softball. The future is bright for the Wildcats.”
