FCT welcomes new advertising manager
Ellison replaces the late Terri Haston. Haston had sold advertising for TVM since April 2010 and since May had sold all advertising for the FCT. Prior to May, Terri had sold FCT ads since May 2020 for Best of the Best, Cancer Awareness, high school championship pages, first responders and other special projects.
Haston was tragically killed Sept. 22 at her family’s home in Prattville.
“Terri made a lot of friends and contacts in Franklin County over the past five years,” said Brown. “She was one of the best sales reps I’ve ever known, and she was conscientious about her job. She truly cared about her customers and doing what was best for them.”
Brown worked with Haston at the Montgomery Advertiser from 2000-2008 and again at TVM since April 2010. He said Haston had been actively selling advertising for a variety of TVM products. In addition to the FCT, they included Franklin Living, Times Daily in Florence, Explore the Shoals, Shoals Living 50 Plus, Hartselle Enquirer and the Decatur Daily. In the past, she had sold advertising projects for Redstone Rocket in Huntsville, the Madison Record and the Advertiser Gleam in Guntersville – all TVM properties.
In making Ellison’s announcement, Brown said, “We’re fortunate to get someone of Fred’s caliber to assist our customers at the Franklin County Times.” Ellison attended Troy University in Troy where he studied accounting and business. He brings more than 30 years of newspaper sales and management experience to the FCT, working at various sized papers across the United States.
Ellison said in his experience, customers all want results from their marketing investment, and he takes pride in achieving that goal with a “win-win” philosophy: businesses receive cost-effective marketing solutions provided by the newspaper. He said he is committed to building life-long friendships and enjoys contributing to the success of businesses.
Originally from Montgomery, Ellison and his wife Janet enjoy college football, golfing, fishing and music. He also loves spending time with his family, which includes two daughters and grandchildren.
