Phil Campbell, Belgreen dominate county volleyball tournament

All three divisions of the Franklin County Volleyball tournament took place this week, and Phil Campbell and Belgreen dominated. The Bobcats and the Bulldogs were in the finals of all three divisions. Belgreen won the varsity division while Phil Campbell won the junior varsity and junior high divisions.

In the double-elimination tournament at Red Bay on Saturday, Belgreen beat Tharptown 2-0 and Phil Campbell 2-0 to advance to the finals. Phil Cambpell beat Red Bay twice 2-1 and 2-1 to advance to the finals. Belgreen won the tournament in three matches 2-1.

Phil Campbell hosted the single-elimination junior varsity and junior high divisions of the tournament on Wednesday.

In the junior varsity division, Phil Campbell beat Tharptown to advance to the finals where they met Belgreen who had beaten Red Bay. In the final, Phil Campbell beat Belgreen 2-0.

Volleyball area tournaments will begin next week.
