NWSCC hires new cross-country coach

Northwest Shoals Community College has hired Tharptown’s Joseph Brown to be the school’s new cross-country coach.

Brown replaces Mark Wells, terminated early in the season.

Brown, a veteran cross-country coach for the Wildcats, takes over the Patriots – resigning his coaching positions in cross country and soccer at Tharptown – immediately.

Brown built a championship-contending program at Tharptown and said he hopes to build a championship team at Northwest.

“I can’t wait to get started,” Brown said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to coach a team at the next level and go out and recruit the best runners I can find.”
