Cap and Ada West: Green space marks site of former home

PROGRESS 2023: What’s In A Name

Cap and Ada West once lived in Hodges, at the mouth of what is now the road down into the Hodges Horse Park. “It was way before my time when they were alive, of course,” noted County Commissioner Joseph Baldwin, who remembers passing by the park as a youngster and wondering about its namesakes. When the Wests passed away, the weeds and such began to grow up around the old someplace, and their nephew Wendell West donated the property to the town in their memory.
