Commission announces voting location changes

During the Franklin County Commission’s May 15 meeting, they announced the College Avenue precinct voting district (also known as 2-2) voting location is moving, effective immediately, from the A.W. Todd Centre to the College Avenue Baptist Church, located at 521 College Ave.

The change is effective immediately. Stated reason for the change is to be more accommodating to voters.

The commission also announced voters located in precinct 2-3 (Courthouse) and 2-5 (Electric Warehouse) have been voting at the Elizabeth Lucas Courthouse Annex, and, effective immediately, their voting location is now the A.W. Todd Centre. Stated reason is to promote greater voter participation by providing voting places that are more accommodating to voters.

The Board of Registrars will send out cards to inform voters registered in the respective districts.

The Franklin County Commission is responsible for the voting places throughout the county for federal, state and local elections pursuant to 17-6-4(a) Code of Alabama 1975.
