Pilgrim’s sponsors RPL summer program
For the second year in a row, Pilgrim’s is fully sponsoring the Russellville Public Library summer reading program. The company made a check presentation for $4,200 at the library March 31.
“Pilgrim’s is so pleased to present this donation to the Russellville Public Library for the summer reading program. This is our second year partnering, and with the success of last year’s turnout, we’re more than excited about what this year will bring,” said Kimberly White, HR manager for Pilgrim’s complex.
RLP Library Director Joshlyn Bowen said she’s also excited about the ongoing partnership with Pilgrim’s. “Their 100 percent support of us in this takes the programming limitations off and allows us to create a summer reading program that will captivate the community in an impactful way,” Bowen said. “They are a wonderful and integral part of this community.”
Bowen said not only is Pilgrim’s renewing its support this year, but the company has also exceeded last year’s contribution.
“When I reached out last year, they were eager to provide full support to show their support for literacy-based programming,” she added. “They have become our partner in the RPL summer reading program, and we couldn’t ask for a better one.”
Russellville City Councilman Darren Woodruff said the donation will be a boost to the community.
“I appreciate everything Pilgrim’s has done and continues to do for the community, the library and the city,” he said. “We look forward to many upcoming projects.”
The Summer Reading Program will kick off June 9 with events each Friday at 2 p.m. at RPL until the finale July 28. The theme for this year’s program is “All Together Now,” which will focus on unity and community. Program details will be available soon.
